Why I Started Ella Friendly
For a long time, I was dealing with things I couldn’t really explain, skin issues, hormonal imbalances, constant bloating, food sensitivities. I felt off, tired, and honestly disconnected from myself.
So I started paying attention.
I went through a five-month gut cleanse protocol and began tracking what I was eating, not for content, not for anything public, just for me. I needed to understand what was actually helping and what wasn’t.
And slowly, things started to shift.
Not overnight, not perfectly, but consistently.
Over the last year, through that protocol and continuing to build a lifestyle that actually supports me, I really healed.
I lost about 15 pounds. My energy came back. My skin cleared.
But more than anything, I started to feel like myself again.
And it wasn’t from anything extreme, it was from learning that food is medicine and I now know how to eat in a way that works for my body.
What I realized
There’s so much noise in wellness.
So many rules, trends, opinions, what to eat, what not to eat, what’s “healthy,” what’s not. It’s overwhelming, and for a lot of people, it makes things feel harder instead of simpler. Same for skin care. I wasted so much money on skin care ads and trends to try to clear my skin. When I really just needed to pair back my skincare routine completely to gentle cleaner and moisturizer, and focus on what food I put in my body.
What I needed, and what I couldn’t find, was something that made it all feel clear, personalized, and actually doable.
Not perfect. Just supportive.
Why Ella Friendly
Ella Friendly came from the way my family would talk about my food.
They’d ask, “is that ella friendly?”
And it has become a shorthand for food that feels good, food that supports my gut, my hormones, my energy.
Not restrictive. Not complicated. Just intentional.
That’s what I want this to be.
What this is becoming
This started as a way for me to track my meals.
But it’s evolving into something bigger.
I’m building Ella Friendly into a personalized wellness platform, something that helps you figure out what to eat, how to feel better, and how to build a routine that actually works for your life.
Think:
meal plans tailored to your goals and your body
grocery lists that make shopping simple (and realistic)
guidance around gut health, hormones, and daily habits
All in a way that feels approachable, not overwhelming.
Where I am now
Right now, I’m still living this every day.
I’ve built my life around these habits. I’m a fitness instructor. I still eat this way, shop this way, and adjust as I go.
And I’m starting to share more of it, because I know I’m not the only one who has felt this way.
The goal
I don’t think you should have to guess what to eat to feel good.
I don’t think feeling bloated, tired, or off should feel normal.
And I don’t think wellness should be this complicated.
If I can help even a few people feel more at home in their bodies, that’s the goal.
More to come 🤍
